Here's a thought. Who would probably not now be a Tory MP had the A list been in existence for the 2005 election? Who would have made it onto the A List without a problem?

Non A listers:

Mark Pritchard MP for the Wrekin - backed David Davis from the start and asked Ken Clarke (or was it Cameron) about recreational drug use at the hustings for the Tory leadership.
Daniel Kawzcynski MP for Shrewsbury. My opponent in 2005 - he is very tall but...

Definite A listers:

Michael Gove MP for Surrey Heath - bright, articulate and shrewd.
Ed Vaizey MP for Wantage - perhaps one of the most able of the 2005 intake.
